This Friday at the South Bend Buns will host a hoisting contest.  The challenge will begin at the South Bend Buns at 7:30 and run to around 9:30. All challengers must be over 21.  It's gonna be fun!!

My what a long strange trip it's been.....

So much to say, but the internet is only so big.

First of all, I would like to congratulate Brianna (Bri) Meister for her recent move to General Manager of the South Bend Buns!  Please ask for her and welcome her to her new store.
Secondly, I need to congratulate Nicki Tobolski (Pickavet) for her promotion to General Manager of the Elkhart Between the Buns location!
Third, I have to welcome Brett Kocsis as the new General Manager of the Granger Buns location.  He comes to us from points unknown, but seems to be a nice guy.  Ask to meet him on your next visit!!

Plus we shuffled some other managers around if you need to know:
Chad is now at the Osceola Buns
James is now at the South Bend Buns
Dave is now at everywhere
Long time managers Phil Schreiber and Jeff Morauski are no longer with the company.

Ok, that covers the management moves, hopefully I didn't miss anyone and you can still find your favorites.  The good news is that the food and the service should remain just as good as ever since most of these managers come from other Between the Buns.

It's Getting Interesting

So the Buns world has been shaken up a bit since the sudden separation of Phil from the Buns family.

Many of you have become attached to some of our managers, and we're just doing a little shuffling around.  Those of you who knew Jeff, he'll soon be located at our Granger location.  Bri, the General Manager of Elkhart is moving to the South Bend store and is looking forward to her new team.
Yours truly is going to be running the Elkhart Buns starting Monday.  So that's all the fun stuff.

The last week has been crazy as some of you might know....

Yes, it's true... Phil is no longer working for Between the Buns.  Yes, he was and continues to be an owner.  He will no longer be working in the restaurants, he'll be sitting back as an owner.  We wish him the best.

Dave - now in SBend

At this time, you might notice some management changes.  Jeff, the General Manager of our South Bend store has moved into the Granger location to replace Phil, and I (Dave) have moved into South Bend to take Jeff's position.  Of course, no one could ever 'replace' Phil in Granger nor Jeff in SBend.  Everyone is just trying to fill their predecessor's shoes.

But enough of that, on to the fun stuff!!

All our new items & promotions have really caught on this week.  I'd have to say that the Strawberry Lemonade is the biggest hit!!  I'm sure the heat has something to do with it.  It's not boxed, well sort of.  The lemonade is, but then we add real pureed strawberries.  Mmmmm.....

By the way, did you know we have Fried Pickles?  And these aren't the kind most restaurants get (frozen).  We put our own breading on real, never frozen pickles.  Crispy, salty and served with a creamy bloomin' sauce.

Oh, and by the way.... I lied.  Well, it wasn't a lie when I told y'all the other day that there was going to be a surprise next Wednesday.  But there's been a change in plans, and we're going to simply keep our $5 Bang Bang shrimp special on Wednesdays.  Sorry for the tease...

The Blog Continues

Wow!  I'm impressed.  61 views yesterday!  I guess I need to start considering saying something profound in these things.  Four score & seven .... oh forget it.  I'm not doin' that!!

Yesterday I was so excited about doing this blog thingy, that I totally forgot we started a new sandwich & new drink in addition to the new lunch special.  Duh!!  My bad....

The Spicy Gipper Reuben - Trust me, I thought it sounded weird too, but after 14 shots of tequila, I tried it.  It was really good!!  Ok, I didn't do the tequila, but it did take some arm twisting.  It is much tastier than one would think up front.

And with the anticipated heat today, I don't want to leave out our new non-alcoholic beverage.  STRAWBERRY LEMONADE!

I'm so excited.  More meetings today.  In one meeting I gained 3 days of marketing work!  How does that happen?  With all these meetings, how am I supposed to get any work done?

C'est la vie....

But there is big news & a big surprise coming next Wednesday.  It's so cool, I'm not even able to tell you yet!!  But what could we possibly do on Wednesdays?  Hmmm.....

Between the Buns (by me) is gonna start blogging!

Welcome to the Buns blog.  Gonna have to get used to this.

Starting the day with an advertising meeting focused on NDame.  Totally excited though b/c I got in touch with a Domer who is fencing in the olympics & he's willing to do a meet & greet at the Buns after the games when school starts back up!!  So exciting!!

I hope that the buttons for the new lunch specials work today!!  It's called "The Back 9" - for two reasons.
1) It's on the back of the menu
2) There's 9 featured items all just 5.99 during lunch!

Well, that's my first real blog post.... let's see if I can keep it up.
